Track and Field: Pole Vaulter Tommy Marks
Huber Heights Wayne senior pole vaulter Tommy Marks set a personal best by clearing 15 feet, 6 inches at the Warrior Relays yesterday. Marks finished second in the state indoor competition by clearing 14-6. Marks, a University of Cincinnati recruit, will be one of the athletes to watch as the outdoor state competition goes down at Jesse Owens Stadium in Columbus later in the season. Ironically, Marks' effort isn't even a school record: Les West registered the state's first 16-foot jump in 1975. Dayton Daily News

The Firebirds, trailing 4-0 and down to their last strike, rallied for five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Lakota West senior Matt Foor had a two-run pinch hit double to tie the game. Foor went on to score the winning run on a wild pitch. The Enquirer
Girls Basketball: Coach Openings in Lake/Geagua Counties
Rival schools Willoughby South and Eastlake North are both still looking for girls basketball head coaches.
