Football: Rockey River Names New Head Coach
Rick Adams is the new head football coach at Rocky River, a Division III school. After a succesful run with the Pirates (including a 20-3 record the past two seasons), former Rocky River coach Ron Lewis bolted to Division I Lakewood. Adams, who has a 47-35 career record, coached at Kenston the past four years. Adams, 37, played football at Trinity and Baldwin-Wallace College. He will teach social studies at Rocky River, as he did at Kenston. The Plain Dealer
Football: Nordonia Coach to Receive Massillon offer
Massillon City Schools Superintendent Fred Blosser hasn't confirmed or denied the fact, but rumor has it that Nordonia coach Jason Hall will be offered the head football coaching job at Massillon Washington High School. The official announcement won't be made until Thursday night at a Massillon Board of Education meeting. In addition to Hall, Coldwater's John Reed and Maria Stein Marion Local's Tim Goodwin aren rumored to be candidates. Canton Repository
Girls Basketball: Rob Heise Steps Down
Cincinnati Archbishop McNicholas girls basketball coach Rob Heise has stepped down after 10 seasons as the head coach. Heise guided McNicholas to the 2001 Division II state title. Replacing Heise is longtime boys JV coach Tim Monahan. Heise will stay on as the athletic director of the school. Cincinnati Enquirer
Softball: Van Wert defeats St Henry
The Van Wert Lady Cougars played host to the St. Henry Lady Redskins and shutout them out with a 3-0 victory in varsity girl's softball action Monday night at VW's Jubilee Park Field. Pitcher Morgan Williams led the shutout for the Cougars. Van Wert will open their WBL season on Tuesday with the Indians from Shawnee at Jubilee Park. The Lima News
Basketball: Massillon Perry's Kenny Frease
Massillon Perry senior center Kenny Frease is invited to play in the Ohio vs. Kentucky prep classic as well as the Ohio North-South All-Star Game. Joining the 7-foot Xavier University recruit are Indiana signee Tom Pritchard (St. Edward), Akron signee Anthony Hitchins (Chillicothe), Dover's Eric Dummermuth and Warren Harding's Damian Eargle.Canton Repository
