VanderHorst is outstanding player on Division 4 all-tournament

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Ryan VanderHorst, a sophomore who came up big in New Knoxville's championship run, is the outstanding player on the 2008 Associated Press Division IV all-tournament team.

VanderHorst was stellar in both of New Knoxville's games and had 13 points along with a game-high nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals in Saturday's 74-52 victory over Worthington Christian in the finale. He was 13-of-20 from the field in the two tournament games, scoring 29 points with 20 rebounds and 10 assists.

Joining him on the squad are teammates Brad Piehl who had 29 points and 13 rebounds in the state tournament and Austin Arnett who had 21 points.

Also on the team are Worthington Christian's Tyler Joseph with 33 points in two games and Bedford Chanel's Lamar McKnight, who scored 21 points and had eight rebounds in a semifinal loss.
