CANTON, Ohio (AP) -- Lamar McKnight scored 31 points and Bedford Chanel hit seven 3-pointers to beat Malvern 75-65 Sunday night in a Division IV regional championship game at the Canton Fieldhouse.

McKnight had 16 points in the opening quarter as Chanel (17-8) broke out to a 19-16 lead. He had four 3-pointers for the Firebirds, who move on to play Worthington Christian (25-1) in a state semifinal game Thursday at 5:15 p.m. at Ohio State's Value City Arena.

Chanel led 52-51 heading into the fourth quarter, then hit 12 free throws to hold off second-ranked Malvern (25-1), which was led by Tyler Tucci's 22 points. Zak Kapron added 18 and Trevor Halter had 13.

John Mosley chipped in with 16 points for Chanel, with JoVaughn Brown adding 13.
