DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- A Dayton-area high school boys basketball team has been disqualified from the state tournament for using an ineligible player.

Jefferson defeated Cincinnati Lockland 83-59 in a Division IV district final Tuesday. Jefferson was to have played in the regional next week.

The player is home schooled and was cleared for the first quarter of the season. However, Jefferson coach Art Winston says he never received information about the player's second-quarter eligibility.

The player's name has not been disclosed.
